Finding Balance. Creating Meaningful Change.
Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect. Difficult experiences, emotional distress, and patterns that seem hard to change can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward.
I believe psychotherapy offers an opportunity to better understand these experiences while developing new ways of responding to life's challenges. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that meaningful change becomes possible when we begin to recognize the connections between our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and personal values.
Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help adults navigate emotional difficulties, develop greater psychological flexibility, and make choices that support the lives they want to build.
What Working Together Looks Like
From our first conversation, my priority is getting to know you as an individual—your experiences, concerns, strengths, and hopes for therapy.
Our work may involve exploring difficult thoughts and emotions, identifying patterns that contribute to distress, and developing practical strategies for navigating challenges more effectively. We may also examine the values that matter most to you and how those values can guide your decisions, relationships, and personal growth.
I strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you can feel heard and understood while taking meaningful steps toward greater emotional well-being.
Areas We Might Explore Together

Anxiety, depression, and persistent stress can affect how we think, feel, and engage with everyday life. Together, we can explore patterns contributing to emotional distress and develop practical approaches for managing difficult experiences, strengthening coping skills, and finding greater balance.
Mood &
Stress Management

Recurring relationship conflicts, intense emotions, and longstanding patterns of thinking or behaving can make connection with others challenging. Our work can focus on increasing emotional awareness, understanding interpersonal patterns, developing healthier boundaries, and building more satisfying relationships.
Personality &
Relational Difficulties

Develop a deeper understanding of who you are, how you've been shaped by your experiences, and the parts of yourself that may be waiting for greater recognition and expression.
Identity &
Personal Growth

For individuals who identify as neurodivergent, navigating a world often organized around neurotypical expectations can present unique challenges. Melinda offers a supportive, affirming space for adults with ADHD or autism to explore their experiences, better understand their individual strengths and needs, and develop practical strategies for navigating daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being—without losing sight of their authenticity and personal values.
Neurodivergence

Navigate changing roles, relationships, and stages of life while exploring what these transitions reveal about your identity, values, and evolving sense of self.
Life Transitions &
Aging

Changing familiar patterns can be difficult, even when we recognize that they are no longer serving us. Therapy can help identify the thoughts, emotions, and circumstances that maintain unhelpful behaviors while developing more sustainable habits aligned with your goals and personal values.
